newfound deal: tartan skirt

With fall 2011 comes the return of red, black and green plaid, especially in schoolgirl skirts and trousers, but also in coats and blazers.  I fell for the Opening Ceremony skirt, immediately imagining it with my Rag & Bone Newbury booties, a chunky knit, and opaque tights when the weather permits. Charming as it is, I wasn't too keen on spending $400 on the skirt. Unfortunately this meant I was on a mission to find a similarly adorable celtic plaid piece. All's well that ends well, my friends: printed woolen perfection under $20.

You are welcome.

Can you tell I'm excited? That's what newfound deals do to me.

The skirt is so easy to build upon. Whether its paired with a pullover knit, an oversized one, a blazer, vest, leather jacket, ladylike jacket, or tucked in blouse, with flats or heels, tights or bare legs, the options are endless. So endless that I just formed the runniest of a run-on sentence. All in all, this piece is charming and wonderfully versatile.
